I’m Jeya Palan, and I’m a Leeds orthopaedic hip and knee surgeon.

I trained in London at the Royal Free, and then went on to gain an immunology degree at University College London.

I’ve worked abroad in Brisbane (Australia), and my surgical training was in Oxford and Leicester.

I’ve carried out fellowship training in primary and revision hip and knee surgery at Nottingham, Coventry and Oxford.

I’ve also undertaken travelling fellowships at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto and in Vancouver.

I have a PhD from Leicester looking at hip and knee replacement outcomes, and now I’m a Consultant Hip and Knee Surgeon and senior lecturer at Chapel Allerton Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary.

I was President of BOTA (British Orthopaedics Trainees Association) and have served on the Royal College of Surgeons and the British Orthopaedic Association Councils

I have published over 40 research papers all about hip and knee replacements.

I have written several orthopaedic texts, and I’ve been the Associate Editor of the Bone and Joint Journal. I also teach other surgeons regularly on hip and knee replacement courses.

I’m delighted to be able to offer a private practice service for patients who are struggling with hip and knee arthritis and who want to explore their options.

I have a great team around me to assist in your care, including Rachel, my private medical secretary.

Ann and her team are available for patient queries six days a week, and my patients find her guiding support immensely helpful.
